About The Artist

BIO
Alyssa Thorne is an award-winning fantasy artist and writer from the Pacific Northwest, working in an ever-growing array of mediums including sculpture, painting, and photography. Each of Alyssa’s photographs features a full-scale set built entirely by hand, including natural materials such as fruit and flowers, alongside her original props or altered antiques.
Alyssa creates each image using only in-camera effects and (primarily) natural lighting. No digital compositing is involved in her images. A deep love of fantasy, science fiction, comics, and cinematic practical effects, alongside a longtime study of classical still-life paintings, has alchemized into Alyssa’s signature dark, dreamlike aesthetic—rooted as much in pop culture as it is in art history.
