A high-quality print produced on thick, matte paper.

The Giclée printing process results in stunning images, full of exquisite and luxurious detail. With seven dye-based inks (which offer a vast range of colors), this process retains even the finest elements of a given artwork. Since my photographs incorporate ample darkness and shadow, Giclée printing ensures that even the smallest details are captured, while offering a lower price point than an exhibition-quality fine art print.

Giclee Prints are Archival - 100 years, 200 in dark storage.

Artist Statement:

I consistently receive compliments on my writing, and I believe that the depth of my pieces and the way I talk about them are part of what set me apart as an artist. My photos are art, but they are also stories.

I began writing as a young teen. I was a voracious reader, and I always felt I had words inside me that would someday find their paper, but I didn’t start writing until I discovered Francesca. (And Davey havok but that’s a story for another day)

A friend told me about her, and I found Weetzie Bat on display at the public library and took it home. I’d never read anything like it. She wrote how I thought, how I felt. She wrote the most shimmering, vibrant stories that made me see the world as a magical place where anything could happen. I felt the characters come to life all around me as if I’d known them forever. Reading her work opened the floodgates of my soul and like some kind of spell, the words came pouring out.

Soon I found her book Ecstasia, which I made this piece to honor. It touched my soul in ways I can’t begin to describe. I still have my dogeared, yellowed copy from middle school. It’s a story of glitter and excess, love and loss, a dark myth of epic proportions. It touched on my fears of aging, of dying, of loving too much. The words came right off the page and embedded themselves into my skin. I still remember lines from the story as if I had just read them.

I chose the colors from the beautiful cover, created by the incredible Suza Scalora, to create this work. I dedicate this piece wholeheartedly to Francesca, and to every faerie-hearted daydreamer in the world who understands the power of being recognized through a book 💕
